News and Announcements

Planned Absences/ISPs

Planned Absences/ISPs Planning to travel during school days? Per the Student/Parent Handbook: Parents are to give at least five (5) days' notice prior to a request for Independent Study (ISP).
Independent Study includes absences of one or more full days. Please email your child's teacher and Renae Howell (rhowell@rocklinacademy.org) five (5)+ days in advance when planning your child's absence from school. Doing so allows the time to prepare work packets to help students stay caught up during the absence. Absences 3 days or more will require a meeting with the Principal. Thank you for your consideration.
New Music Program!

New Music Program! Looking for a fun and "edutaining" way to learn music? Rocklin Academy is proud to offer music and band for interested 5th and 6th grade students beginning January 6th. Students will have the chance to learn how to play an instrument like flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone or percussion/iPads in a before school program at both the Turnstone and Meyers schools. What a great opportunity to experience the great benefits of playing an instrument, with strong expectations and with an amazing team of friends! Mr. Walker will be showing demos of instruments and sending information home, so keep your ears near!
Vision and Hearing Screening

Vision and Hearing Screening During the month of November, we will be conducting vision and hearing screening. According to California Education Law, students in selected grades are screened annually for distance and near vision acuity, hyperopia color perception and hearing. Kinders, second, and fifth grade will be screened for both hearing and vision. The School Nurse will notify parents if any concern is noted. Private screening in lieu of screening by the school nurse is acceptable. Results should be documented by student's MD and presented to the school office for documentation in the student's health file. Parental written refusal of school screening should be submitted to school office prior to the date of screening.
Canned Food Drive

Canned Food Drive Bring any nonperishable food items to school for donation to the Placer County Food Bank between November 12th through November 21st.

Afterschool Safety Precautions

Afterschool Safety Precautions To help keep our school pick-up running smoothly and to keep everyone safe, please follow the following safety precautions:
1. Do not arrive before 3:00. Rocklin Elementary's dismissal is at 2:55, and we need to help keep the pick-up area clear until after 3:00.
2. If there is a line of cars on Meyers St.waiting to pull into the school parking lot, please pull over as far as possible to the right, without blocking any driveways. This way, traffic driving past will not cross over the double yellow lines and the risk of accidents will be reduced.
3. Never block the sidewalk when pulling into the parking lot. A clear path needs to be kept for pedestrians.
