Afterschool Safety Precautions

Afterschool Safety Precautions To help keep our school pick-up running smoothly and to keep everyone safe, please follow the following safety precautions:
1. Do not arrive before 3:00. Rocklin Elementary's dismissal is at 2:55, and we need to help keep the pick-up area clear until after 3:00.
2. If there is a line of cars on Meyers St.waiting to pull into the school parking lot, please pull over as far as possible to the right, without blocking any driveways. This way, traffic driving past will not cross over the double yellow lines and the risk of accidents will be reduced.
3. Never block the sidewalk when pulling into the parking lot. A clear path needs to be kept for pedestrians.

Please Check in at the Office

Please Check in at the Office Please remember to ALWAYS check in with the office before going into classrooms. It is a Rocklin Academy policy, as well as a safety issue, that all visitors are identified with the school office. If your child has forgotten a book, lunch or water bottle, please leave it in the office to be delivered to the classroom so we may lessen disruptions to the classrooms.
Lockdown Drill

Lockdown Drill Rocklin Academy and Rocklin Elementary practice monthly fire or lockdown drills. Drills provide a time for us to practice our procedures we have in place to continually re-evaluate and revise our procedures based on what we learn from the drills. After the Sandy Hook tragedy, Rocklin schools, working closely with law enforcement, revised a procedures to endure consistency among schools. In the past, drills were schedule announce to faculty and students prior to the drill. Law enforcement recommendations are to create drills as realistic as possible. Recently, we conducted our first unannounced lockdown drill. It was a successful practice, and we learned a lot and have made further revisions to put in place for our next drill. Because drills are a simulation of a lockdown, no one can leave or enter the school. This means students cannot be checked in or out for appointments or parents volunteers to leave. Thank you for your support in ensuring the safety of our students, faculty, and staff a priority.
