California Central Valley Spelling Bee

On Wednesday, March 5th, I had the honor to attend the 35th California Central Valley Spelling Bee held at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center in Sacramento.  In total, 62 students from Sacramento, Yolo, Solano, Placer, Plumas and Shasta counties participated in this annual event. The competitors were enrolled in grades 3 through 8 and clearly each one of them presented themselves with such poise. They were completely focused and demonstrated excellent spelling skills. Half of the competitors made it through the 3rd round.  Our very own 5th grader, Nivedh Vutharkar, from Rocklin Academy Meyers made our school proud while representing our school all the way through the 4th round!  Samina Zanzi from the Turnstone campus did equally as well by also making it to the 4th round. Our school communities are very impressed with the effort and time both students put into the Spelling Bee competitions.  We congratulate all competitors for their hard work!
