Student Leadership plays a very important role in every school. They help share students’ ideas, interests, and concerns with the teachers and the principal. Our Student Leadership Team provides an excellent opportunity to participate and practice leadership skills. Student Leadership Team members represent and lead their classmates while encouraging and maintaining a cooperative spirit within the student body. This year we are excited to announce our Leadership Team consisting of members from fifth and sixth grade. Our students are: From sixth grade- Simar R., Hayden J., Jaisleen K., Reese V., Benjamin L., and Rishi U. From 5th grade- Emma S., Olivia H., Christine L., Aanya S., Zaheen K., and Sidharth N.
One of the ways our student leaders will participate and practice leadership skills is through our monthly School Service Learning Projects. This month our Student Leadership Team, under the guidance of Mrs. Putkey and Miss Wood, will be sharing the importance and raising money for Childhood Cancer ACCO as September is National Go Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness. GO GOLD® is a movement led by the American Childhood Cancer Organization to transform public awareness of the gold ribbon as the international symbol of childhood cancer. Next week, September 25th through the 29th our school will be participating in activities to help bring awareness and take action to end the fight against childhood cancer. Please see the flyer included in this Weekly Update and join us in this important cause.
