When walking through the classrooms it gives a great insight to the curriculum students are working on each day. Many of our classes are studying U.S. History from the American Revolution to Western Expansion. Our 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade students are all currently completing these Core Knowledge curriculum units. For example, our first graders just finished learning about taxation and the Boston Tea Party. In 5th grade, our students are studying about Western Expansion and how the West was made. Lastly our 2nd graders are learning about historical figures such as Clara Barton and Harriet Tubman. Our curriculum spirals through the years which is a wonderful way for students to be exposed to U.S. History every year to build upon past knowledge. It is great to see the depth of learning Core Knowledge provides!
