I’m thrilled to be introducing myself to you; my name is Kristel Kamrar. I just completed my fourth year of teaching sixth grade at Rocklin Academy. I was introduced to Rocklin Academy and the Core Knowledge curriculum in January of 2010. As a substitute I had the opportunity to get to know the amazing staff in different grade levels, as well as the Core Knowledge Sequence. I fell in love with the school quickly and have considered myself lucky to work on the 6th grade team for the past four years. Sixth grade is an amazing year of growth and adventure for students and I am delighted to be a part of that journey.
Before joining the Rocklin Academy family, I taught a year of kindergarten with the Western Placer Unified School District. I received my Bachelor’s of Arts in Liberal Studies and earned my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at California State University, Chico. During college I worked on a team of exceptionally trained math tutors who served 5 local elementary campuses, working side by side with teachers to provide support in math education for at risk students.
I live in Roseville with my husband Josh and our dog, Karma. Having both grown up in Roseville, Josh and I are surrounded by plenty of family and friends that we spend much of our free time with.
I look forward to working closely with my sixth grade teaching team as well as all of the families in our classroom to make this year a great success for all!
